Scrapbooks and Yearbooks must be post-marked to the District Books Chairman by February l5. Each District Chairman should judge the books according to the guidelines listed below. The same
criteria will be used for state judging. General and Juniorette clubs are judged separately.


SCRAPBOOKS


Scrapbooks will be judged according to the following 4 classifications:
1. Under 20 members
2. 21 - 35 members
3. 36 - 50 members
4. 51+ members
(Classification may be attached to the inside of front cover so as not to damage book.}
 

Physical Aspects
1. Size not less than 81/2 X 11
2. Cover - durable and stiff
3. Identification on cover - Club, Town, District (Year, theme, and date of organization may also be used)
 

Contents
1. Pictures or listing of GFWC, MFWC and District Officers
2. Pictures of club officers and members (Individual or group)
3. Club meetings - pictures, any information relating to program and publicity of meeting
4. Club projects - pictures and publicity
5. Conventions and special meetings
6. Letters relating to club activities
7. Record of awards received
8. Any club related material - newspaper, magazine articles or miscellaneous
9. All pictures and material must be labeled.
10. Contents covering period from January 1 - December 31 ONLY.
 

Skill in Execution .
1. Originality in following administration theme or selected theme
2. Chronological sequence of programs and projects
3. Creative and attractive arrangement of pictures and materials
4. Variety of materials
5. NEATNESS - (pictures and other materials cut straight/evenly, erasures complete, lines straight, etc.)
 

Excellence of Copy
1. Adherence to style throughout book
2. Excellence of pictures, articles and materials (Remember - a picture is worth a 1000 words!)

 

 

YEARBOOKS


Yearbooks will be judged according to the following classifications:
A. Under 20 members
1. Printed
2. Looseleaf
B. 21 - 35 members
1. Printed
2. Looseleaf
C. 36 - 50 members
1. Printed
2. Looseleaf
D.51 + members
1. Printed
2. Looseleaf
NOTE:

1) Classification maybe attached to the inside cover so as not to damage cover
2) A book should be classified printed whether it is printed by computer, copier or printing company
3) Example of classification: A club with 31 members submits a looseleaf book, the class. is B-2
 

Physical Aspect
1. Size - easily handled
2. Identification on cover - Club, Town, District
3. Print - easy to read
4. Margins - uniform
 

Contents
1. Club officers, chairmen, and committees listed~
2. GFWC, MFWC and District officers listed (These can be found in the Plans issue of the Mississippi Clubwoman and the MFWC Handbook.
3. Club Roster (May include address and telephone number)
4. Programs completely developed, listing date, location, speaker, and Federation department as well as responsibilities of any member. Other information may also be included.
5. Club motto, colors and flower (if club has them)
6. Collect
7. Constitution and Bylaws
8. Adherence to GFWC and MFWC themes and cooperation with Federation objectives
9. Conventions - date and location
NOTE: The purpose of a yearbook is to give a member as much information as possible concerning club, MFWC and GFWC activities.
 

DISTRICT CONTEST

 

All scrapbooks and yearbooks judged first place shall be taken by the MFWC President to the State Books Chairman. The District Books Chairman is responsible for placing them in the President's car.She should make two lists of the books going forward, giving one to the President and keeping one for herself. All other books must be picked up at the close of the District Convention by the club.
 

STATE CONTEST

 

All entries in the state competition must be picked up at the designated time at the State Convention by the sponsoring club. If no one from the c1ub is present, the District President should pick up all books from her District.
