would be great for you to send to your MS

Dear Senator (Your Senator's name):
Thank you for taking time from your
busy schedule to read my letter. I live in the Great
State of Mississippi and am a member of the GFWC-Mississippi Federation of
Women's
Clubs in (City/Town name)
As a concerned citizen I want you to
know that I strongly favor the passage of the Elder
Justice Act and full funding for the 2005 reauthorization of the Violence
Against Women
Act.
The Elder Justice Act provides a
comprehensive strategy to address elder abuse. It would
establish criminal penalties, create programs to assist victims and train law
enforcement.
The Elder Justice Act would be a wonderful leap forward in the detection and
prevention
of elder abuse.
The Violence Against Women Act 2005
continues many successful programs from the
1994 and 2000 V A W A authorizations, as well as instituting new programs to
provide
further funding for victims and legal services and addressing communities such
as the
disabled, elderly, and racial and ethnic populations. Essential domestic
violence
programs currently in effect and crucial new programs that are part of the
reauthorization
are dependant on receiving full funding to ensure that lives are saved and that
violence is
prevented in our communities.
I urge you to please consider these
important legislative issues.
Sincerely,
